Real talk, who else is tired of the constant changes and struggles that come with Instagram and their lack of consistency? It's like they don't want us to use the app as intended. We need a map just to navigate the "secret algorithms" and "hacks" that may or may not work.
Have no fear! Here are 5 things you can do RIGHT NOW to boost your engagement.
1. use the correct hashtags
Are you using the right hashtags for your niche? This is the best thing you can do for yourself. Look for hashtags that are being used by LESS PEOPLE! If you're constantly using generic and broad hashtags that 1M people are using, you're never going to get seen.
For example, instead of using #blogger ~ try using #bloggercommunity
To check how many people are using a hashtag, simply type it into the Instagram search and it'll tell you! Stick to hashtags In between 150k and 700k k?
2. be consistent
We know you hear this all the time.... but, we're serious. Instagram favors people that are consistent. Post often, be on stories daily, have a pattern with what you're doing. It's not only important to the algorithm, it's important to keep you relevant.
3. use stories to their full potential
Use the questions box, polls, and quizzes on stories. This will help you gain a lot of engagement and Instagram will favor you. Try do this weekly.
4. hide hashtags in your stories
This sounds dumb when you read it. But, it works. Use your (specific not broad) hashtags in your stories. You can hide them by making the text the same color as something in the background and putting the text there so it disappears.
5. use reels and use them now
There is no reason you should not be using reels. It's easy to use and it is being favored by Instagram right now. You will get WAY more engagement with reels. They are worth it!! AND now is the time before they become way to flooded. Hop on the train before it leaves the station.
